Description:
This painting is colorful and beautiful. The signature and title are barely visible (actually better in these digital shots than in real life) due to the lead pencil used by the artist.
Condition:
Excellent condition. The frame is in very good condition. Very beautiful and very decorative. Please allow the images to serve as part of description.
Provenance:
Acquired from an estate in Denver, Colorado :Unquote

I have a framed watercolor that has been hanging in my family's home for all of my life. It was passed along to me because no one wanted it and I always thought it was of the area around Boston, where I grew up. It is very simple, but quite lovely. For the past year+ it's been in a closet. Tonight, when I was cleaning out the closet and decided to "Google" the painter. I've been looking at this signature of 30+ years, but never thought to do that.
It is signed G.M.Avondale, in the right corner (in what appears to be pencil) and on the lower left corner it says: "St.Ives" and a word starting with P that I can't entirely make out.
This does not in any way look like a print and the paper on the back is in fact quite old. I'm wondering what you might be able to tell me about this painting and what it might be worth.
Thank you,
Dawn Q. Landau
