I have just today gotten around to googling Garman Morris, I had an old picture that was in the basement of my grandmother's house...no one else wanted it and my grandmother was never wealthy so of course we didn't think it was of any real commercial value. Anyway, the picture is titled Moonrise and I assume mine is a print but don't want to rip i more…

I recently bought a GM Avondale watercolour at auction in England. Not a very high price, Morris still doesn't seem to be rated here and of course the market is depressed at the moment. I have a set of 4 Garman Morris watercolours signed GM, but there is no doubt that the style of the letters GM are the same as in GM Avondale. more…

I have just bought a pic of Morning on the Essex Coast at a car boot sale on the Isle on Man. I thought it was an original water colour but maybe it is a print. It has been reframed by the Isle of Man framers. It is a beautiful picture. I came onto this site trying to find out more about the artist. more…

I have 2 watercolours by G M Avondale. One is titled "Thatcher rock" and is a different scene to the one metioned on this site. The other is clearly across Torbay as I know the area very well. They are both very pretty and in their original frames. Interestingly, the frames are identical to the frames on two Garman Morris paintings currently for sa more…

Look out for postcards by Maris. These were done by Garman Morris's sister (?Mary) who did not want to use the better known Morris and appear to compete with her brother more…

That's a beautiful print. I have three framed Garman Morris prints I'm selling here in California on Craiglist.com. Sunset, Moonrise, and an untitled one. I love them but have to give them up (along with many other prized possessions) as I prepare to move into smaller quarters. more…

My father has two paintings that he would like me to find out about by Garman Morris. I wonder who could identify them, they are orginals and not prints with copyright held by artist on the back. They are wooden framed and obviously rather old. In good condition. I apologise if I have left this query in the wrong place on your site. Any advice more…

I have a framed watercolor that has been hanging in my family's home for all of my life. It was passed along to me because no one wanted it and I always thought it was of the area around Boston, where I grew up. It is very simple, but quite lovely. For the past year+ it's been in a closet. Tonight, when I was cleaning out the closet and decided more…

I grew up with 'A grey morning'(print) since the 1940's in Hastings. Since moving to Wales I have seen the same print in a pub in Pembrokeshire. My gut feeling is that the name Garmon Morris is Welsh, but can so far find no evidence. more…

I do have the original watercoloour of Garman Morris of the Calm Evening and the original watercolour of Sunset. Both watercolours are framed in black laquered frame and they seem to be the original frames.I do not know how many paintings of the same theme this painter has done but are the same as the pictures above. I have 2 wood-framed (about 1 1/2" deep)Garman Morris pieces (about 3 1/2" x 4 1/2") which I think might be postcards (or watercolors) of sailboats which I got from an auction because they were were lovely. There is no glass and the pieces have signature going up the upper right side. The backs are wood, nailed in, so I do not want to take them apa more…

In the 1920's he travelled to the UK and met up with British family members whose parents had corresponded with WK Morris. He told me that he met Garman Morris. He mentioned that Garman had a sister who a more…
